Reinforced grass runway and taxiways

PERFO recycled plastic mats were installed on the runway and taxiways at Andresfield aerodrome to reinforce the runway and taxiways. PERFO improved its load-bearing capacity. The interlocking plastic mats spread the weight of aircraft across a wider area, reducing rutting and subsidence on soft or waterlogged soil, while the perforations allowed rainwater to drain through rather than pooling on the surface. This system created a more stable, all-weather runway that could be installed quickly, enabling the airfield to support sustained flight operations and more frequent aircraft movements.
